Advanced Erosion Solutions, LLC is seeking dependable, motivated individuals to join our team in the erosion control industry. Our field-based positions are a great fit for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, take pride in hands-on work, and are interested in building practical skills in a growing trade.
Field Technician/Laborer
The field technician/laborer assists with erosion control installation, maintenance, and general field operations at active job sites. Work includes installing and maintaining erosion control devices such as silt fence, erosion control blanket, wattles, mulch bags, inlet protection, and related materials.
This position may involve using hand tools, assisting with job-site equipment once trained and authorized, maintaining clean and organized work areas, and completing work in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and safety requirements.
Experience operating tractors, skid steers, dump trucks, or other field equipment is preferred but not required. Previous construction, landscaping, erosion control, or general labor experience is also a plus. AES is willing to train the right candidate.
Crew Leader
The crew leader is responsible for safely transporting crews, equipment, tools, and materials to job sites while assisting with and leading erosion control installation and maintenance work.
Qualified candidates must have or be able to get a valid Class A or Class B CDL. Air brake and tanker endorsements are preferred. Experience operating tractors, skid steers, dump trucks, or similar field equipment is also preferred, but not required for all candidates.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, leading a crew, and staying hands-on in the field. The ideal candidate will be safety-minded, dependable, and willing to lead by example while developing the skills needed to become a reliable erosion control field crew leader.
Responsibilities include operating company vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies, operating job-site equipment when trained and authorized, maintaining safe and organized job sites, communicating professionally with customers and coworkers, and ensuring work is completed according to project specifications, company standards, and safety requirements.
Field Position Requirements
Field Technician/Laborer and Crew Leader positions require regular physical labor in an outdoor construction environment. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, working on uneven terrain, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, using hand tools and job-site equipment, performing repetitive physical tasks, and working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
Some job sites may also require background checks and additional drug testing. The ability to pass a background check is preferred but not required for all positions.

SWPPP Inspector
The SWPPP Inspector is responsible for inspecting construction sites for stormwater compliance and verifying that erosion and sediment control measures are properly installed and maintained.
This position includes routine site inspections, photo documentation, written reports, identifying needed corrective actions, and communicating with contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders. The role includes a mix of fieldwork, driving between job sites, and office-based reporting and documentation.
Qualified candidates should have strong attention to detail, good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and walking active construction sites with uneven terrain.
A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent are required. College degrees in a related field are preferred. Some job sites may also require background checks and additional drug testing. The ability to pass a background check is preferred but not required for all positions. Experience with stormwater compliance, construction inspections, erosion control, or environmental work is preferred. SWPPP-related certifications, such as CESSWI, CPESC, or KDOT CSW, are preferred but not required. AES is willing to train the right candidate.
